To those who shared their support along the way, A special thank you to the Homicide team and South East Area Command patrol officers of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for their courageous acts and great dedication in solving my brother’s case. We are grateful to LVMPD Officer S. Ortega for being one of the first responders in providing First aid alongside a Nevada Highway Patrol officer.

First Gen on Ending Violence Limited was born after tragedy struck our family. Our older brother had been murdered and police have yet to find a motive in his case. Although it is still an active investigation I cannot provide any details regarding the case; I will like to introduce myself.

My name is Raquel Chaparro Montalvo, founder and director of First Gen on Ending Violence. It has been a difficult process of gathering myself through my grieving process and accepting help from others along the way. Losing a sibling is a different kind of pain, you lose a part of who you are as you realize what great impact their presence in your life is. Beginning with a heavy heart, learning to live life without my brother by my side has left a void that will never be filled as long as I live. I wanted to do something that can and will be a light in the darkness for those grieving. First Gen on Ending Violence Limited is a Non Profit Organization based in Las Vegas, Nevada, as we want to help families locally to begin, by sharing their stories and finding resources for victims. This is only the beginning but I have high hopes that this organization will thrive.
